Hands on Review of the HTC One X and HTC One V

Today, April 13, 2012, Taiwanese phone maker, HTC, launches two of its new smart phones for the HTC One series. I got the chance to have a hands on review at its pre-launch at Digital Walker a few days ago. So here is my personal view about the smart phones.

Key features of the HTC One X:

Tough Built

Its unibody form is built with space-age polycarbonate composite partnered with a Gorilla Glass in front that serves as a shield to damages during accidental drops. Skeptical and all, one staff member dropped the phone at a height of around 3.5 ft.  =). True enough to its word, the phone still looked good as new.

Amazing Design
The first time I got to hold the HTC One X, it felt good on my hand. It's a perfect size for a smart phone. The grip was comfortable and not too small to compromise viewing pictures or surfing the net. I am also happy with the weight. Its not too light to call it cheap and not too heavy like a brick.

Quad Core Inside
This smart phone is equipped with a 1.5 GHz Tegra 3 Quad-core Processor. It's as if you are using a top of the line laptop/desktop. Games, videos and applications won't have a problem with this Smart Phone.

Note: According to the HTC people, there is a fifth core, which acts as a battery-saving feature where minor tasks are off loaded to whenever high processing power is not necessary.

Equipped with Beats Audio technology
HTC boosts itself with high fidelity audio using beats audio technology.  With this kind of technology, sound is truly different. You get rich, authentic sound whether you are listening to your favorite songs, watching movies, or playing games.

Great Video and Pictures
Taking pictures is a breeze.  HTC's camera can shoot great photos with low light, bright light  and even no light. Aperture settings can go up to f2.0 with its BSI sensor. The back camera has a 8 megapixels with smart LED flash. It can auto focus in 0.2 seconds which can take four digital photos per second.  Front camera is 1.3 megapixels, 720p for video calling.

HTC One X can shoot video in full HD, 1080p.  Shooting modes include High Dynamic Range and Panorama.
The camera application is also unique, featuring a simultaneous HD video recording and image capture, so users wouldn’t have to toggle between the two settings anymore when they want to capture a moment.

Crisp resolution
HTC One X has superior display with 4.7-inch Super LCD 2 and 720p resolution. This means seeing more vivid color for popping images. Its technology also provides ample backlighting display at any condition, whether it be indoors or outdoors.

Storage
It has non-expandable 32 GB internal storage - similar to an iphone than the other android phones where you expand memory via SD card. The good news is that for every purchase of an HTC phone you immediately get a free 25 GB Dropbox subscription for 2 years. This means seamless integration of files, gallery, office sharing, email and cloud storage.

Connectivity
WIfi, Bluetooth and 3G
