Meralco's Smartphone App Helps Lower Electric Bills

MERALCO, the Philippines largest distributor of electrical power recently introduced its Smartphone app that can actually help users save on their electricity bills.

The Smartphone application is called (MOVE), short for MeralcO Virtual Engine. It is a 6-in-1 app suite that lets users experience Meralco's services and more. Included in the app is an updated appliance calculator to measure your electricity consumption, location help for finding the nearest Meralco Business Centers and Bayad Centers, access to your latest electricity bills, power maintenance schedules, and energy efficiency tips.

I downloaded the app from Google Play Store since my smartphone runs on an android platform. Note: the app is also available at the App Store for IOS (Iphone/ Ipad) and Blackberry App World.

Type the word "Meralco" at the search button and you will be given five results. Just download the MeralcO Virtual Engine-Phone application because the other apps listed are already included when installed.

So how can this app help users save electricity? Let's see what it can do.

The Meralco Appliance Calculator can compute the electricity cost per hour, cost per day and cost per week of an appliance. Just input the needed information like the wattage, type of appliance etc.  This could be very useful on managing monthly electricity budget.

The Meralco Office Directory shows the nearest Meralco office. I tried looking for a Meralco Business Center at Marikina while on the go. Click on the area and it will show the complete address and telephone number. Isn't that convenient?

Avoid late payments and fines by paying the electricity bill on time. Meralco bills can be paid in any Bayad Center. If you want to know the nearest bayad center in your location, there's an app for that. Search the Bayad Center Directory app.
